Supervising script continuity as a producer on the set.
"Soulmates" premiered at Whistler Film Festival 2016.
Private Client, UK (2016-2017)
Amongst my duties as an assistant to a professional, disabled woman, I have handled a variety of contracts, professional paperwork, and emails. Proofreading such documents with respectful dialogue has honed my ability to both listen to and anticipate a client's voice.
Screenplay & Dissertation Editing,
Canada & UK (2014, 2016, 2017)
I take an avid interest in story editing and proofreading for multicultural (and ESL) writers; tightening word choice and committing to the author's individual vision.
In 2016, having worked as a research assistant at the University of Edinburgh's School of Informatics, I was asked to copy-edit (unpaid) an undergraduate Artificial Intelligence thesis. Over five months, I produced regular notes on the structure and clarity of the publication for its ESL author. 'A Template-based Model for Automatic Image Description' went on to be awarded 83/100, one of the highest marks that year.
Short Films & 48 Hour Film Projects,
Canada & UK (2012-2016)
With four competitively and collaboratively made productions under my belt, I can attest to a love of realising a story and a vision. Regardless of time constraints, I aim to bring out the core meaning of a script, its characters and its genre.
KAWI Content, Singapore (2013)
As assistant to the CEO, I researched product-market and product-culture fit for the company's upcoming productions: films, graphic novels, and children's books.
Scroll Magazine, Holton-Arms School, USA (2011)
I served as president of Scroll literary magazine, winner of the Columbia Scholastic Press Association Gold Crown award. In this capacity, I organised writing prompts, and collected work that would go on to read as a coherent publication.
Writing for Film & Television, Vancouver Film School, Canada (2016)
An intensive programme with particular emphasis on story editing, production management, character, structure, genre and pitch. My electives included portfolio-driven studies in playwriting, writing for comics, and drafting design documents for video games.
MA English Language & Literature, University of Edinburgh, UK (2015)
Studying linguistics and the English canon in tandem, I prioritised an understanding of grammar and semantics, with minor classes in the cognition and language processing. I read this degree with the intention of wringing the maximal meaning from words.
